A Breast Implant Plastic Surgeon Discusses Removal and Lift

March 3, 2021Christine Pigott

Many times, breast augmentation does not provide optimal results. If you have had this type of surgery, you may be dissatisfied. To correct the problem, a breast implant plastic surgeon may be able to remove the implants and perform a breast lift. The results may give you a more natural and aesthetically pleasing appearance.

Who is a Good Candidate?

After you receive a Newport Beach boob job, you may realize that your implants are not making you happy. Removal may be a smart option. Are you a candidate for this type of surgery?

  • Do you wish to restore a more natural shape to your appearance?
  • Is the weight of your implants causing you great discomfort?
  • Are your implants deflating or contracting?
  • Are your implants not complimenting your bodily figure?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you are a good candidate for implant removal.

After implants are removed, you may experience sagging breast tissue. Also, your breasts may appear deflated and may contain drooping nipples. To avoid these issues after implant removal, you should consider a breast lift.

Implant Removal and Breast Lift Procedure

As with a boob job Newport Beach procedure, you will be sedated or will receive general anesthesia before the removal and lift. An incision will be made in each breast to take out both implants. Then, another incision will be made in each breast so that tissue can be lifted. During the surgery, your nipples may be repositioned as well. This should restore a more youthful look.

What to Expect During Recovery

Immediately following surgery, you may experience some swelling and bruising. Some women are required to use compression garments to help with healing. You may be advised to avoid strenuous activity for up to four weeks after the surgery. If you experience numbness or loss of sensitivity, this is usually temporary. After six weeks, you should be back to normal, and you should see visible results.

Although implant removal decreases the size of your chest, a lifting procedure will correct your appearance. With age, you may still experience sagging.
